The git equivalent is .git/config (and the '[remote "origin"]' section therein); for those who are less comfortable with editing the file direct, the same effect can be more or less achieved by doing "git remote rename ...", then "git remote add ..." and "git remote remove .." - I would probably suggest renaming the old and adding the new, then delete the old, for the safest way of doing it. The "git branch -d/-D/-m/-M/-r" options (for deleting/moving local or remote branches) are probably also useful.
