There are two Makefile and two "index" files, the ones I have mentioned.
The makefile in the "doc" subdirectory uses rst2html.py directly,
whereas the one in the website/www uses sphinx-build.
Both should use sphinx and we should only have one index file.
Again, probably small issues.

probably fix all these in little time. Any takers?
You could just fix stuff on a regular checkout saying
"make html" in the website/www/ directory.
