Ron, compatibility is a bit problem even without your
ideas for change. It might be OK, but compatibility
with old version of XAPI is important. And after all,
you didn' t get any answer from the people who are
responsible for the changes. Like I said it before,
XML:DB API seems a bit like an abandon project, but
most of important XML database servers comform it, or
at least they try/tried to comform it.
