Do you know the command to do an unattended uninstall? I was unaware that I was responsible for doing that as well.

If you're using the same MiKTeX installer then the switch will be unaltered (http://docs.miktex.org/manual/setupwiz.html).
Have you attempted to run the command elevated (e.g. from an elevated command prompt or using the Start Menu's search box and CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER) or do you have UAC disabled? (you could try running with UAC disabled in the first instance, but I wouldn't recommend leaving a Windows 7 machine in that state - UAC is there for a reason). Alternatively, have you tried using --unattended --private to do a single-user install?
