I've made a variety of small fixes that I think are viable for a 3.0.1 
release so I've created a 3.0.x branch for now that I can put things 
into.  Tim, keep developing against master and I'll periodically 
cherry-pick save changes down into the 3.0.x branch and we'll eventually 
(maybe soon?) push 3.0.1 out.  This will let users get useful fixes 
without any of the more dangerous stuff that's coming (eg: updating 
jQuery to 1.4).
