fwknop

Hi all -

The 1.9.0 release of fwknop is now available:

I was going to make this the 1.8.4 release, but the diff between the
previous 1.8.3 release and 1.9.0 was over six thousand lines long, so it
didn't seem right to call it just a point release.  Some major new
functionality has been introduced including full NAT support for inbound
SPA authenticated connections (iptables only for now), iptables OUTPUT
chain support, and a better SPA packet format that always includes the
internal MD5 sum at the end of the SPA message.  This will help make new
SPA message types easier to develop.

The feature of the 1.9.0 release that I'm most excited about is the
introduction of a new test suite (see the test/ directory in the fwknop
sources).  Because fwknop communications and features are relatively
complex, this test suite will help to reduce bugs that may be
introduced during the coding process.  This blog posting shows the
output of the test suite running on Linux (it also functions on FreeBSD
but a few of the tests are not executed there yet):
