Hi all,
I agree Dave!

One has to stop doing much of the ordinary work and reflect on the terrible 
things that happend but also try to understand how it will affect our lives 
in the close future.
Of course there are no answers but the present escalation involving many 
countries is very disturbing and frightening.

Hi all,

I get the following err msgs when trying to install the plug-ins...

1) pt_sched table added!Plugin loaded!Sorry, your sql statement failed.
1054: Unknown column 'help' in 'field list'

2) Pagetool Plugin Manual (en)  source has been added.

1146: Table 'dippe.pt_core_plugins' doesn't exist
Pagetool Administrator Manual (en)  source has been added.

The Admin manual is already installed but not the Scheduler.

The install/uninstall page also  erroneously=A0reports that the Pagetool =
Plugin=20
Manual isn't installed but it is and I can access it as I can with the Ad=
min=20
manual.

BTW: What's the difference between Pagetool Scheduler and the Scheduler?

Hi - It sounds like you updated your php scripts to 0.11, but you did not=
=20
run the upgrade script (www.yourorg.org/src/setup). The upgrade script ad=
ds=20
the pt_core_plugins table to your database - it also re-generates your=20
pt_config.inc, index.php, and test.php files). If this sounds like the=20
problem, checkout the UPGRADE.txt file for more info. If you have done al=
l=20
this, let me know and we'll go from there.

Hi,

I already upgraded to 0.11 quite some time ago but I haven't been 
installing any of the plug-ins until recently.

I use the cvs quite often and I have read the latest upgrade file.

There was a table I needed to create but I did that today (the 
upgrade sql-file).

Do you have any clues what it might be?

Hi all,

Does anyone know of a simple import filter from i.e. fields that are 
tab-separated into pt_core_wwwpages?

I've tested mysql_import but it doesn't seem to work.

Maybe a simple import filter could be useful for a broader audience than me?

Usually it's quite simple to concatenate fields in the original database 
(like FM Pro) so the import would then be into

title
keywords
and html

but there are other fields where NULL values are not allowed.

I'm not sure how to handle this so any hints would be useful.

So, by the time we get to line 115 we HAVE found media names from the
database, but in G=FCnthers case NONE of the files with those names give
an image size array ($sizestr) using the path
$ptconf["wwwdir"].$ptconf["media_dir"]  $images[] is therefore not at
array.

In the CVS I've committed new code that checks to see if $images is an
array (not empty) before trying to array_pad the array. If it's not then
a message to say "no images found" will be displayed.

G=FCnther, if you do have images in the database AND in the media
directory but you are now getting a "no images found" message then you
have a look at the values of $ptconf["wwwdir"] and $ptconf["media_dir"]
in pt_conf.inc

Is this where you have the media directory above the index.php directory
in the tree? Is $ptconf["media_dir"]=3D"../media" or something? Currently
Pagetool has only one $ptconf[] variable dedicated to the location of
the media directory and I _think_ it's only used here in
pt_generator.inc, in pt_upload.php and in pt_functions.inc in the
function pt_delete_media() (Jamie will correct me if I'm wrong <grin>).
In pt_upload.php the file name to upload is calculated by

$fullname =3D  $ptconf["ftppath"] . $ptconf["media_dir"] . $name;

so again a $ptconf["media_dir"] with a value like "../media" is going to
break the code. :-( The same is true of the function pt_delete_media()

Not quite sure how to proceed here. We need a www value for the media
directory, and a file system value and an FTP value as well I think!

Hi Dave,
Actually I use different media directories for the production and the 
unstable versions.
I'm not quite sure how I managed to "screw" things up to get that error.
It didn't prevent me from uploading a media file though and after 
that the error disappeared.

Hi all - nice work Dave. FYI - a couple versions back I slipped in a new 
variable called ptconf["rel_wwwdir"] which is the directory relative to the 
root wwwdir, but I don't think this will help much in this situation. 

I think that for version 2 we should really re-think all the ptconf values. 
Perhaps the answer is to use absolute paths for the media directory (both 
an ftp, and relative web path).

For this version, I would rather not tinker too much. For now, I think a 
hack that would work is to change the value of the ptconf[ftppath] in the 
pt_config file. *AFter* running the setup program, I think that this 
variable will only be used to upload and delete media files. Therefore, you 
could change this value to be one directory up from your media folder. 
Then, your ptconf[media] value would simply be "media/".

So does html help now work when producing an image tag?

I did alter the code so no error _should_ be produced now, but it would=20
just say there are no images if there is an error in the paths and it=20
can't find the images via the file system.

ftp path, relative url path, AND filesystem path. All ways in which we 
may want to refer to a media file.

Hi Dave,
The <img..>-tag comes out perfectly fine!!

I haven't implemented a Pt specific menusystem yet. Too many other 
things to do correlated to my prof. work.

The latest CVS solves the problem with small font sizes for sure :-)
Actually it should make admins with heavly impaired vision more than 
happy if they're using  NS 4.7 or IE 5 and Mac.

into the page you are editing." since a new window is opened?

I think it's possible to also have a "Close this window" - button 
(not sure if it works for this kind of window or in all browsers).

Is that sarcasm there G=FCnther? I though that was an English thing!=20

What size should the fonts be set to then for NS4.7 on Mac and IE5 on=20
Mac? Have a look in your browsers cache to see what style.php has=20
produced for these browser. When reporting back it would be useful if=20
you could tell me what the first line of the style sheet reads. On my=20
system with ie5.5 it reads:

You don't actually have to close the window. The "next" button changes=20
to a "start again" button allowing you to go on and  produce some more=20
html, for example pasting the <img> tag into a <a href=3D""> to produce a=20
clickable image.

Also text browsers, like Lynx, don't open up a new window, so I thought=20
that "Switch back to the "Edit Page" window, and paste the code into the=20
page you are editing" was the best compromise. Maybe in the next version=20
of Pagetool I could modify the generator to appear on the same page as=20
the page the editing takes place on, to avoid confusion.

Only with JavaScript, which I think we should try and avoid due to it=20
not working across all browsers.

"binarycloud is a development system and set of base classes that support the 
rapid creation of large scale 'multi-tier' web applications that are 
self-documenting, stable, and secure. The basic design of the system allows 
developers to assemble applications out of lightweight components using a 
common API, and quickly define and use custom data structures for each 
project."

I downloaded the package, and had a look around http://www.binarycloud.com (I=20
think it was .com) Not quite sure where you'd start with it, or quite=20
how it works! Does it produce php code from php code??? Couldn't quite=20
work it our.

Which bit's may be relevant to Pagetool so I know where to look? :)
