That works. I usually just create a new template and copy the items
that I want over from the stock template. This forces you to look over
each item and verify that they makes sense for what you want to
monitor. At the very least, check the collection intervals as they can
sometimes be too frequent.
You can then create your Tempate_web, Template_ldap, Tempate_xyz and
place the items specific to the service/role that you want to monitor
in each. Finally, just add Template_base and Template_web to a host.
