I'm using the Ubuntu 23.1 install of Emacs today, and will likely do so
until I see something compelling appear in Emacs's repository.
There may be some other package installed that is conflicting with
CEDET's inline completion.

I have heard that the regular CEDET install works fine on top of Emacs
from BZR, though I have not tried it myself.
