While I understand this, sticking to Java 5 would hamper development of
JGroups 2.9, especially some performance enhancements I have in mind. I
think I'm firm on baselining 2.9 on Java 6. Every good party has to end
some time, and the Java 5 party is over ! :-)
If people want to stay on Java 5, then they have to stay on JGroups
2.8.0.GA, which will be here for a few years.
Note that JBoss 6 requires Java 6, so folks sticking with Java 5 will
have a problem no matter what. Don't know about about players (e.g.
Spring), but I'd assume they're based on Java 6, too.
