Thanks Alessandro. By the way -- when folks make changes, can you please
also add a note to the "CHANGES.txt" changelog, under the "docs" folder?
As you may be able to tell my looking, here are the rules I like to have
about the changes:
1. Simply update the changelog date for the forthcoming version
(i.e., rigth now it says "2007.March.22 (0.9.17)"...
you would keep that line where it is, at the top of the file, and
obviously keep the version number "0.9.17", but change the date to,
2. Try to categorize changes. (I have in the latest, for example,
"Tool Improvements", "Documentation Improvements", "Bug Fixes",
"Translation Updates", and "Compiling, porting and packaging updates."
Your change for Nokia Maemo platform would support would go under that
3. Credit yourself: First name Last name <email @ address>
(As lead developer, I don't usually mark my changes with name/email.
For the rest of you, though, I like to document who did what --
mostly as a credit to you, but also in case I or someone else has
questions about a change, later on.)
4. Keep it human-readable.
Admittedly, a lot of these rules are so that I can more easily summarize
changes in Tux Paint when making announcements for new releases to various
news sources, etc.
In the meantime, I'll summarize what you posted about your update, and
put it in CHANGES.txt for you. Thanks! :)
