I have had problems with this for a long time on OSX. There is also
the libtermcap problem. Perhaps its time to create a config for OSX
that includes the switch for the line editing library and perhaps
someone can include a check for the presence of the required extra
libraries and warn with a proper set of instructions of how to fix it
in the makefile?
