XEmcas 21.5.x does. But *all* supported XEmacs versions provide the
replacement function #'symbol-value-in-buffer. Please have a look at
the compatibility wrapper in XEmacs 21.5.x, obsolete.el:

(defun buffer-local-value (variable buffer)
  "Return the value of VARIABLE in BUFFER.
If VARIABLE does not have a buffer-local binding in BUFFER, the value
is the default binding of variable."
  (symbol-value-in-buffer variable buffer))

Well, but then semantic should use `symbol-value-in-buffer' and not `buffer-local-value' because *MY* Xemacs 21.4.22 doesn't have this - and Xemacs 21.5 is still beta and (IMHO) much more "beta" then current Gnu Emacs 23.0.93 - my Xemacs 21.5 crashes sometimes which is definitly not very stable - so semantic should not exclusively be based on features of Xemacs 21.5 but should at least support current stable versions of Xemacs - IMO...

That's why I posted the definition of #'buffer-local-value from
obsolete.el, which could be added in a similar form to cedet and
perhaps ECB. That way all branches of XEmacs could be supported.

Eric, could you (or any other cedet-guy) please make a short review for the documentation of ECB concerning setting up CEDET for the needs of ECB and pasring files:

It's not much text, don't be afraid ;-)

Please tell me if something is wrong or could be better explained or is already better explained in the CEDET docs (then i would just link to the right location)...

IMHO a not-misunderstandable setup-docu (in both CEDET and ECB) could reduce some traffic on our mailing-lists  a la "i do not see any methods, what am i doing wrong - please help" or something similar ;-)

Hi Klaus,

  Your docs seem fine.  There is a CEDET manual in
cedet/common/cedet.info, and there is a top-level node called "ECB
Target".  I should do the same thing you have, and update all my online
manuals.
