I'm afraid stat can't really know the input file name, there might not be one, or there could be more than one. At this point it's just an audio stream that could have come from anywhere (e.g. a buffer, or an audio generator or even another application), but the `effect' at the beginning of the processing chain can know the filename. Try something like
sox -V path/to/some/folder/test.wav -n stat
to see what I mean--in this case, the input file name is displayed (along with some other info) by sox's input combiner.
