You may try vgl_convex_hull. You won't get a rectanglar box, but you
will get the bounding polygon. From there you could parse out max and
min points if you actually want a rectangle.

points? I saw the vgl_orient_box_3d class, but it looks like you have to
already have a box and then you can specify its orientation. I want to
just get back the minimum volume bounding box of a set of points.
