and he should be able to bring Tortoisehg to even greater heights.

Thanks for making THg possible. Without it, we wouldn't be using 
Mercurial at our place at all. :)

At least the use of common components would've been nice. 
TortoiseOverlays is a good start. The rest might differ depending on the 
native language for the vc-tool itself (i.e. hg-users prefer gui with 
good python bindings, which probably isn't so important for svn. :)

I think the future looks brighter now that the installer build is 
getting automated. It makes it easier to "just release" stuff.

Also, it makes it possible to try with 64-bit releases, which is getting 
a bit pressing. (I just don't know how to build GTK and all for 64-bit, 
otherwise it'd been fun to much about with it. :)

TortoiseHG made it possible to work on my roleplaying system together with 
windows using friends, and it brings version tracking into the grasp of 
everyday users.

Yup. It's a bit of a pain to use 32-bit extensions on a 64-bit explorer. 
(There are workarounds, but ...)

Now that Hg is on a timed release schedule, this will be easier to
do.  It also helps that the installer build process is being
automated.  We would like to begin building periodic release
candidates so that as Hg approaches 1.2 we can be ready with THG 0.7
at nearly the same time.

Hi Folks,

As part of the transition from TK's lead to mine, we're moving all of
the TortoiseHG Mercurial repositories to Bitbucket.  I've created a
new account there named (you could probably guess) tortoisehg.

The new URLs:

http://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/crew/
http://bitbucket.org/tortoisehg/website/

stable is going to remain primarily the repository we push to at release
time. However, following 0.7 I will also push bug fixes to this
repository so that people who build their own installers can benefit.

crew will be similar to TK's -crew, except it will follow closer to my
personal style which is more bazaar, less cathedral.  If you're
interested in having push rights to this repository, send me an email.
If you would like to contribute, get an account on Bitbucket, fork from
crew, and then send an URL to the tortoisehg-devel mailing list.

website has the revisioned contents of the SourceForge web site.  I
intend to keep using SourceForge to host the main web site, released
installers, and the mailing lists.

I plan to move the SourceForge wiki content to Bitbucket, but this will
obviously take some time.  I also plan to use Bitbucket for issue
tracking.

Updating the SourceForge web site has not been so straightforward
(need ssh access). I wonder if it should be moved to bitbucket wiki
too. That way there will be only one entry point for tortoisehg. This
also means SF will be merely a provider for other services (releases,
mailing lists, etc)

Otherwise you could create some push hooks for the website which automatically 
update the site. That's what I do for some of my sites. 

You still need ssh, but the workflow will be very convenient. 

(please just ignore this if you already do it ;) ).

It's a thought.  At the least, we can keep the main web site very
simple and move most of the content to the wiki.

I can't see anything too critical that we need to maintain the main
website. IIRC, some sourceforge projects simply redirect their main
page to other non-SF location.

The benefit of Wiki is obvious.

I saw the bitbucket wiki suggest using bitbucket tracker to submit bug report:

    "Please use the Bitbucket issue tracker (above) to submit bugs and
feature requests."

Is this intentional?
