Thank you! I just built my own image and I am successfully recording data. 

I do still have a couple of questions though - 

The audio quality, especially during playback, is pretty noisy. Is this
normal for the summit board? 

What type of input is the board designed for? Microphone or line input. I've
been trying to set the gain using aumix, but as I increase the gain the
recorded files become very noisy.

Mine isn't noisy.  It sounds pretty much like your average PC audio output.

It is set up for line input.  When I record I leave it set at the
default gain.  If I record from an iPod I set the iPod gain at maybe
30-40%
