Just remembered http://www.perlmoks.com and did a search for, well file
download, and voila, there it is...
now I just need to figure out how to use a template from the DB....
What will be next? a D/L counter? A full blown file area plug-in for slash?
I answered myself in case someone else wanted to know about this....

Subject: [Slashcode-development] File download?
Hi, I have made a little .pl file that checks if a user has a certain
seclev, and then display a certain message depending on the seclev, I use
print statements, ahven't figured out how to pull a template from the DB and
to display it.
Anyway, I wanted to offer some files for download, right now its only 2, to
users with a certain seclev. with the above aproach I can publish a link,
this works, however once the link is known there is nothing stoping ppl from
making the link public to other ppl, since there is nothing checking if the
user is authorized to D/L that file.
I have been looking on freshmeat, sourceforge and other places for some CGI
script that "masks" the URL for the files or other anti-leech system,
however all I found where PHP scripts :(
Any idea how you can do this in Perl? store the files directly in the DB?
