Problem with tira lirc_mceusb2

Fedora 9, all updates installed.
 
Remote works on boot, but as soon as I start using it with mode2 or irw,
it just stops responding and I need to reboot to get it back working
again.   irw stops showing, and so does mode 2.
 
I am looking at compiling and installing the cvs and see if it fixes it,
but I thought I would check here first.

Oh yeah, in case the attachments weren't enough.     BTW, I got this

I am on kernel 2.6.26.3-29.fc9.i686 and have just tried
2.6.25-14.fc9.i686 with the same results.

Odd... It (irw) is working here w/2.6.27-rc6 or so + the git tree I'm
patching the Fedora kernels from. Haven't tested with the latest F9
updates kernel lately though (2.6.26.x-based). Anything interesting show
up if you load both lirc_mceusb2 and lirc_dev with debugging enabled?
(options lirc_dev debug=1, options lirc_mceusb2 debug=1
in /etc/modprobe.conf or /etc/modprobe.d/lirc or some such thing, or
load them by hand with debug=1 added to the modprobe line(s)).

Will try to poke at it some more myself tomorrow, already past my bed
time... :)

Nothing too special in the debug.  Just a few length=10's inbeded in the
middle of lots of length=5's.

But now that it stopped responding, I tried a rmmod lirc_mceusb2, and
it's just hanging there, even though I have a:

lirc_mceusb2

That might explain why I would have to do a reboot to get it working
again.  Module stopped responding.

I am going to try and rip out lirc and readd it back in again,  It looks
like it's been installed through both kernels.

Interesting to note.   That wasn't the only thing that hung up. USB
mouse stopped working at the same time.

Haven't got around to poking myself, swamped this week. :\

Can you try out the latest rawhide kernel? (which is what worked fine
for me, last I tried).
