LOL - no... not really... I don't see any good way to break it up
(besides just putting the chunks in different files... but it would
still take just as long to compile... if not longer). My long term
plan is to rewrite the vsmoother using the automatic differentiation
stuff from Trilinos... but that's at least a year away.
Feel free to just remove that file if you like (or come up with a way
to exclude it unless you configure with --with-vsmoother or
