Sure you can, but you're on your own. We don't use newlib as a MinGW
component; our minimalist philosophy eschews it in favour of the MSVCRT
runtime provided with the base operating system. Thus, you will not get
any support here, if you do adopt this non-standard configuration.

Reasonably safe, but YMMV. Remember that it may include code which has
had little exposure for testing. If you do use it, and encounter any
