The latter is down to you, I suspect, as after my last couple

For the segment previews, I'm happy to release as is provided

I still can reproduce the vanishing chords problem I'm afraid. I'm looking at 
it now.

CVS isn't tagged yet. The admin_kde[23] directories were yet another 
interesting trick for make distrib. *sigh*. Ah well. So do you guys have the 
usual 'Changes' list ready ? Here's mine :

- many bugs fixed
- new matrix tool (note move, note duration change)
- start of menu items state management
- rework of the configuration system

That's about it.

Hang on, weren't they in the last release?  Bownie did that
one, but he evidently coped okay.

- new quantize dialog in notation view

- a few handy keyboard accelerators in notation view
- a couple of new notation marks (marcato, staccatissimo)

- many notation properties now view-local, ensuring better
  support for different layouts, sizes or smoothings in

- lots of bugs removed and replaced with new bugs

No, we had admin and admin_kde3. Now we have admin being a symlink to eit=
her=20
admin_kde2 or admin_kde3. Or perhaps it's just how I set things up over h=
ere=20

Yep, I think that's the case -- judging from the fact that you
seem to have packaged up an admin directory that's identical to
the admin_kde3 one, so it's not possible to build with kde2.

Also are you sure we really want cc_*_configure, rb_configure,
gl_configure, seqscavenger.rb and update_docs* in the tarball?

Well, now you have admin and admin_kde2, which are at least
different -- but you're inconsistent with the instructions
in the INSTALL, which assume that admin is for kde2 and
admin_kde3 is for kde3.  Either make sure the directories
have the same names as in INSTALL (which is the same as they
are in CVS, so I don't see why it should be so hard to do),
or change the text in INSTALL to match your mungeings.

Because make dist fails on my setup if admin is the KDE2 version.

There's one issue which will not hold the release (I think) but is worth

Since we never do point releases, we should wait for the Spanish docbook.  
It's only a couple three days away, theoretically.

Speaking of which...  Translations!  We need to wait for everyone to update 
their translations.  We need to sort that out and get everybody going.

There are probably bugs to fix, such as the event filter thing Vlada just 
reported.  That sort of thing should get shaken out in a proper pre-release 
run-up if we can get some actual *testing*.  I don't think it would do to 
just make the final release today and run.

Yes, but have you read it ? It doesn't contain a patch, just a grepped list of 
i18n messages, and he was asking (you, and other russian-speaking readers) 
which ones needed to be fixed. I haven't seen any replies to that yet,

I'm rolling back the event filter to 1.0.  I screwed something up when I 
abolished all the useless parts, and I have no idea when I'll have time or 
inclination to take a proper look at it.  Fastest fix is just to revert.

The recording preview thing seems OK now.

I really need to sit down and actually put it through its paces before we 
release though.  Probably should use it to do some little project, because 
things tend to appear in the course of real work that don't show up during a 
quick test thrash.

The plural problem is patched (mostly - there are a couple of places where it 
will need some actual code redesign). I still have a pending bug dealing with 
session restoration which I hope to fix this w-e, but as far as I can tell we 
can at least get the ball rolling. I suggest we start producing some test 
tarballs, I can get one out tonight.
