I had the same problem, and, checking the cygwin setup, I noticed the regex
library was not installed. Installing the library, the installation worked
fine, using the cygwin configure directive:
$ ./configure --with-mib-modules="host agentx smux examples/example"
_network --with-libs="-lregex -liphlpapi"
and the usual other installation command ( make, umask 022 and make install
