Ok, this is probably a bug in some kind of scripts you use (or possibly UML
uses) - it's not a general UML bug.
Also, I don't remember ever hearing of such a problem, so you'll need to
supply more data to get help on this.
*) what do you use? tuntap with uml_net, tuntap with preconfigured tuntap
*) does your UML boot script do something with the host networking setup
*) could you check your routing tables, ip configuration and possibly firewall
settings, in both UML and host, in both situations (i.e. when network work
and when it doesn't)?
