Linux on the Nintendo GameCube and Wii

It complains about not having the special files in /dev/. Windows is probably not able to do this, so I guess you're out of luck. Probably the same thing for files/executable that have the SUID bit set.

The Mame PoC uses the netblock driver, which mounts a file over a network and uses it as a "block device" (like a harddisk is). However, it's not possible to do this trick on the debian root package since the nbd-client gets killed when switching runlevels and the root device is lost, kind of like pulling your harddrive out of your computer while it's running.

It would be great if this would work. I meant to try it but I don't
know enough about NFS yet.

If you want to try another solution, you can use coLinux as an
NFS server. I went as far as setting it up as an NFS server on my
pc, but I got sidetracked :) and never got to actually plugging my
cube into it.
I think you'll have an easier time with coLinux. Just remember
to use bridged networking.

Well i think i was getting it done with a VMWARE awhile back, but thats 
pretty clunky.

i want to be able to do stuff on my computer while gcube is on.  Having 
vmware is pretty chunky on my
system.

i wish i could make a file like 500 mb, then format a linux partition on it, 
and then copy the files onto it, then share it to the gcube
but i dont think this facility exists.
