What do the logs day upon modprobe?

I had similar reports for madwifi-old and FC5 and the solution was
that the reporting users siwtched to madwifi-ng (also packaged at
ATrpms in the testing repo) and their system suddenly worked. Maybe
you could try that.

I have tried so many things that I'm quite mixed up...so can you tell me 
what did you do to get it work? I have tried atrpms madwifi an 
madwifi-ng packages but it haven't worked. and I*m mixed with those 
modprobe.conf lines if you have previous use one and after that use otherone
 so if I use just yum and atrpms repo I get those madwifi rpms but 
manually I can fetch those madwifi-ng rpms...so witch one I use? and 
what I have to write to modprobe.conf after that.

What I sayd...I have tried so many things that I don't trust myself 
anymore so I really hope someone can help me step by step so I don't mix 
anything anymore...thank you

Have you seen http://madwifi.org/wiki/UserDocs/Distro/RedHat ? That
should get you through the installation and configuration process. If
you hit some obstacle make sure to include the logs in your report.

this might be stubid question but what is that before and after r1407? I 
haven't found where can I check what I'm using?? I think it's that after 
r1407 but I wana be sure first.

As stated earlier, what do the logs say upon modprobe? Try issuing 
something like:

bash:# dmesg | grep ath_pci

ath_pci: 0.9.4.5 (svn 1496)

That's what I get and that tells me I'm using r1496.
