Summary: Menus are very slow to be shown
Initial Comment:
from the moment when i click on a menu to the point
where i can use that menu one or two seconds are spent.
This happends the first time i click on a menu.
I suppose this is related to inkscape using svg icons,
because there more icons in a menu the longer it takes
to be shown. This make inkscape to appear innecesarily
slow and sluglish.
I'm using a PIII and inkscape build from CVS HEAD.

I tested v 4.2 in grafpup-linux (linux + apps on 1 cdr) and
it was actually even a bit worse.
(I'll test cvs version, when I'll have learned how to
handle cvs.)

Please try CVS version. This should be fixed by the recent
icons prerendering changes.
