The virtual host login plugin allows you to turn plugins on/off per 
domain or per user.  You can do this even if you aren't hosting multiple 
virtual domains (in which case, you would use something like 
config.php.sample.per_user_functions_only for your config file).

I installed the vlogin plugin 3.3 but it appears that you can only add remove plugins on
a per domain level and not a per user level? I setup everything and edited the user.dat
file but cannot seem to figure out how to remove access to certain plugins. Maybe it is
not possible?

For a test I also tried just changing the default left folder size but that did not seem
to work either.

Here is the user.dat file:

test@..., default_left_size='160'

I logged in but the folder size remained as the user had specified.

My bad, I forgot that per-user plugin management is in the unreleased 
version, which is attached to this email.

I installed your updated plugin and it is working for blocking plugins per
user but only two plugins. When I try to block a third plugin it still
only blocks the first two listed.

Here is a copy of the user.dat file line I am using:

test@..., disable_plugins=spamcop,,calendar,,mail_fetch

only spamcop and calendar are blocked for this user. If swap mail_fetch
with calendar then only spamcop and mail_fetch are blocked. I cannot seem
to get the third pluging to block?

following line to the users.dat to turn off this setting and it did not
work.

test@..., edit_identity=false,

Is it not possible to do this or am I just confused on what settings you
can set per user and which you cannot?

It's quite possible that you need to use the session based functionality 
for that one.  See $useSessionBased near the top of the vlogin main 
config file.  You'll also need to download (but not activate) the 
multilogin plugin and apply the very small patch that comes with it.

I forgot to mention that I already had $useSessionBased set to 1 and have
downloaded and applied the patch for the multilogin. It seems to be
working great for removing access to plugins but seems to ignore the
setting edit_identity=false

Paul,

I think I found another issue. Not really a bug but a possible problem
that might need a solution. When using vlogin you cannot use your main
cPanel account to login. This is because by default cPanel creates the
main account with no domain.com so when you try and login with vlogin it
appends my domain to the account and I fail to login. The only way I can
think to fix this is if we had an exclude list of accounts not to append
the @mydomain.com to.

This is another great reason why I don't have much respect for cPanel... 
  the best solution is to use the $sendmailVirtualUserTable setting to 
remap just that one account to the right value.
