Sounds like a problem with your mail server, not ASSP. :^)~
I'm just teasin'.
I see your point. The more I think about it, the more I think a
time-based approach would only be relevant if a user chose to implement
blocking based on Bayesian scores in a new installation. Over time, the
Bayesian mechanism is accurate enough as is. In the initial phases,
however, it takes a few weeks to "teach" it properly.
Keep in mind this is coming from an admin that typically has a hard time
forcing his users to train the filters he installs. While that may be
an administrative problem ( :^) ), it would be nice to at least have an
option to use a feature that could train the filter a bit faster. I
don't know about you, but a fresh install of ASSP on a domain usually
takes between 2-4 weeks before the Bayesian database is built enough to
avoid false positives.
Yes, good things come to those who wait, but the people I talk to
usually want more of an immediate solution. Sometimes I copy my
company's database to their server to start, but that doesn't help too
much if their vertical industry is unrelated to the tech field.
I'm still just throwing out ideas here. Any time I can implement
something that requires less interaction from end users...I usually go
for it.

There is also the issue that occasionally mail servers gown down and
mail gets queued, to be finally delivered in the wee hours.
I would hate to see this turned on in any email server I send or receive
mail to !
