The above could probably use with a link to the doxygen docs that Ted
made for the extensions code.

Yes, agreed.  Also it would be nice to get some help building more
awareness of the howto once it's in place (rejon?)

Right under my nose the whole time! Sf.net's new interface makes it way
easier for me to find things.

I pasted it to the wiki. This was from a time before extensions had
parameters and the autogui. Wow, things have come a long way since
2005-04-07.
