Maybe we could have a dialog on the ML with 'newbies' asking questions like 
Patrick and 'old timers' giving answers, like Don's response. Someone could 
then take the discussion thread and turn it into a Gramp Architecture FAQ.

Any volunteers?

I like the idea.

I'd be willing to contribute some time and effort in the FAQ
organization and publication process. That way I might even learn
something! :-)

How about using the wiki as a collaboration tool in this process?
Where would it make sense to put that? Perhaps on the category-page
"Reference" (sub-titled, "GRAMPS Reference Material")?

  Aha, Now I see something I missed before. On that page there is a
  pointer to an api reference generated by epydoc.

Anyway, what about creating a Gramps Architecture page under the
category "Reference". Mediawiki provides a "discussion" section for
every page (I guess) -- this could be used to advantage, I would think.
The eventual FAQ could be a sub-page to the Architecture page. And using
the wiki would make it convenient for putting up diagrams such as Ron
Jerome's "diagramme de classes.png" which got stripped from the digest
version of this mail list. (I've just changed my subscription from
digest to non-digest.)

  I'm trying to find that attachment from the archives, but Sourceforge
  seems to be having major hiccups in their archive hosting operation,
  and I can't seem to get anywhere.

  Ron- would you be kind enough to email me directly a copy of your
  diagram, s'il vous plaît?

download link for the diagram attachment, and that works fine. Also

Do you need the file generated by this program ?  I used it for 
generating the resume. It is possible having errors or improvement is 
needed !!!

You are absolutely right. The benefit of lists is in the visibility, and
 potential contagious generation of interest.

I should have said "If it is really big, and you think it would not be
of general interest, feel free to send it to me personally".
