hello, inquiring for methods sdcc can perform to build freeglut.
Freeglut is a partially-maintained open-source OpenGL interface (Glut:
openGL Utility Toolkit). As a reply to an inquiry about OpenGlut, a Mr.
John F. Fay of Jacobs Technology TEAS Group suggested Freeglut as it
may be interfaced with Mac: "I believe it is supposed to support the
Mac but I do not know whether it does." Within a "freeglut" folder, the
install text document said: "These are generic installation
instructions." the text doc goes on about something to do with
'configure', pointing out it looks for system-dependent variables
(operating system dependent variables?). then says: "The simplest way
to compile this package is:
1. `cd' to the directory containing the package's source code and type
`./configure' to configure the package for your system. If you're
using `csh' on an old version of System V, you might need to type
`sh ./configure' instead to prevent `csh' from trying to execute
Running `configure' takes a while. While running, it prints some
messages telling which features it is checking for.
2. Type `make' to compile the package.
3. Type `make install' to install the programs and any data files and
4. You can remove the program binaries and object files from the
source code directory by typing `make clean'. "
freeglut's site: http://freeglut.sourceforge.net . under downloads, i
downloaded this folder from: Dev. Releases/ Nightly CVS Tarball. I
tried by a few methods to 'configure' the folder, though terminal said:
"configure: command not found". i also looked up 'install' file from
stable releases/freeglut 2.4.0 download. exactly same 'install' file,
so probably same procedures.
have a good day
