Leon: Heya. Everything you need to know about VNC and port forwarding you can find here: http://faq.gotomyvnc.com/fom-serve/cache/63.html It sounds like you did everything right, except you forward way too many ports. The ":1" VNC Display needs only 5901, not 5901-5999. Try just forwarding one port each to your father and son's PC -- 5900 to the first PC, then 5901 to the second PC. If both PC's you're trying to connect to are Windows PC's, then using EchoVNC might be easier for you than trying to setup port-forwarding. The idea is that you (being the "techy" of the group) run an echoServer (Windows or Linux) on a PC that you can connect to from both your PC's and the remote ones. For example, you can run an echoServer one of of your PC's, doing any port-forwarding or dynamic-DNS'ing as necessary so that you can connect to it from your father and son's LAN. Once the echoServer is setup, you simply connect to it using EchoVNC on both ends of the VNC connection, with no further firewall/router adjustments needed. When you make a VNC connection using EchoVNC, you can use the echoServer "login names" as identifiers, so you don't need to know the VNC Server's IP address. And if you have the OpenSSL toolkit installed, the data-content of the VNC connection is end-to-end encrypted with 128-bit AES. Apologies in advance for the "self-promotion" here, but for Windows-to-Windows VNC'ing across the Internet, I think it's an easier solution than a 2-day effort. :) Hope it helps! -Scott PS: http://www.echovnc.com > I'm hoping someone can help..been trying the better part of 2 days trying > to figure this one out.
