Hello I might be able to help if you are using Windows
first make sure you have Java installed then set your environment
Variables, Path and CLASSPATH. Path should point to your Java
installation bin diectory and CLASSPATH should be a folder where you
store your Java Files
a tutorial that might help you do this on winxp is locatated here:
Then once you have done that put the jython_21.class file in your
CLASSPATH directory. then go to a cmd prompt and type java jython_21
this should start the installer I suggest saving it to the C: Drive only
because I have had problems saving it elsewhere (could just be me though)
Then you have to edit Jython.bat to
the only things needed to be changed in there are JAVA_HOME this should
point to the main Java directory eg C:\Java
then the last line should look like
"C:\your\path\to\java\bin\directory" "-Dpython.home=C:" -classpath
"C:\jython.jar;%CLASSPATH%" org.python.util.jython %ARGS%
The rest should be default
then you should be able to go to a cmd prompt type jython and it should
be fine other things you might want to edit are the jython registry
Anyway hope this helps
