You are correct that the updates are unzipped on the fly/in some temp
directory. Hence, there is really no reason to keep the "initial"
repository because it will be outdated after a while.
PS! I think there should be an option to save the updated cabs in the
repository, but I don't care enough to file a feature request...
PS! Please send your e-mails as plain text and not as HTML - at least
to a mailing list. What you do to your friend I don't care about...
