I had a look at pal before, which is a command-line calendar. It's available
as a debian package as well.

Just for fun, I tried to install Sarien on the 5MX to play some old Sierra
adventure games, but it would not start with 4bpp color depth. I think that is
caused by SDL, which doesn't check for anything lower than 8bpp. Maybe if it's
built against plain X it might work.
frotz works though, so it is possible to play Zork on the 5MX :-)
