Well I received this version from:
I also tried the latest CVS version for lirc.org with the same results
(everything looks like it loads properly), but when I run irw, and start
hitting buttons, I do not receive anything via output.
In /var/log/lircd, the followings appears to be working too:
Nov 12 07:38:53 gotha lircd 0.7.0pre2: accepted new client on /dev/lircd
The above appears in the log as soon as I type launch irw. However, just
not any input accepted.
I would not be so confused if I was getting some type of error in either
dmesg or lircd. This is what I have /etc/modules.conf as well:
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 ivtv
alias char-major-61 lirc_i2c
options ivtv debug=1
options tuner type=2
options msp3400 once=1 simple=1
add below ivtv msp3400 saa7115 tuner
add above ivtv lirc_dev lirc_i2c
Is there anyway I can turn on more debugging information for lircd, so I
might be able to track this down?
