Problem is I'm scared about the lack of requirements (or should I say the=20
blurry ones) for a metatada client.
Explanation: it would be pretty easy to build one that works over well defi=
ned=20
information schemas (dublin core, 19115/191139).
My temptation (and what I'm doing at the server side on my csw) is to have =
a=20
single, strong typed metadata model on the Java level (the GeoAPI metadata=
=20
interfaces, reflecting ISO 19115), and a mapping to the different output=20
schemas (ogccore is a subset of dc, and iso 19139).
Problem is uncertainty on the sufficiency of this approach to support emerg=
ing=20
profiles. Aka, a profile is allowed to augment the information model with n=
ew=20
structures.
So the tradeoff is on limiting what we can handle with an pleassant API, or=
=20
end up allowing anything like a DOM and deal with the mess it supposes.
so I'm hungry of comments on this regard.
