Well, I'm really pleased to hear that you have found a job. Nice. :-)
You can, of course, do what you want, but as Jo points out, you should
consider the CVS as a backup and not be afraid to put unfinished work there.
There is no problem to commit a file or two, change them, then recommit them.
I encourage you to commit, but at the same time will have patience ...
