It won't support a proxy at the moment. Might be a nice smallish task for someone to do though - it would be a good thing to have. All I can think to do in the short term would be to use "wget" or something similar to obtain a local copy of the files... Of course, the location of the DTD would have to be modified (if you just remove the actual file specification it will use the PUBLIC identifier) so there isn't to much editing to do.
