Nothing. It's a bug. (Well, you could be getting hit by streams not being
threadsafe, but that is not the case here: the same behaviour can be observed
if all three results are saved to different places.)

It probably doesn't help that slime is necessary to reproduce it (at
least I couldn't get this with a standalone sbcl).

Ah, I should've thought about that possibility!

Anyway, thanks for looking into it! And sorry for not having sent a
proper bug report; I thought this was a consequence of my misreading
the doc! Too bad it wasn't.

Oh, no! There is some sort of a miscommunication here: your bug report
was quite proper and real -- much appreciated, even if Slime needs to
be loaded for reproduction.

However,  I cannot reproduce it on 1.0.0.12 on x86/linux. What platforms 
have you guys tested it on?

Linux 2.6.12-xenU, SBCL 0.9.???, Slime ???. (I'll check with current
Slime and SBCL as soon as I have a moment.)
