This is not true - in case of 'from' and 'to' assp removes the recipient
(to) from the header, and if there is no recipient left, assp closes the
connection with a '421 ...' reply.
'450 ...' is sent for combinations of 'mail from' and 'rcpt to' in the
handshake part of the SMTP session.
The temp error reply is used, because the recipient will possibly get
informed about the blocked mail in the block report. But even if he
corrects his personal blacklist, he would not receive the mail if our
reply was '550 ...' - possibly this was a bad choice, I'll change the
reply to '550 ..' in the next release .

Hi Guys,
I've more and more users who use Personal Blacklist to avoid spam from
their mailbox. In the same time the load on my assp servers increase
dramatically, and after some investigation, I found one thing.
When ASSP rejects the emails based on 'from' and 'to' addresses, it uses
450 error code. However this code is a temporary error, which means that
the MTAs try to delivered the emails continuously... After a while the
quantity of MTA whose trying to delivered blacklisted emails become
really huge ...
To inform distant MTA to stop trying to send the emails (on the
personnal blacklist of my users) I changed the 450 into 550 error code.
So my question is, why ASSP use a temporary error code on personal
blacklist rather than permanente error code ?
