Audacity

I have just downloaded Audacity.  I only want to do very simple 
amateur audio editing and Audacity looks just the ticket.

An immediate comment, though, is that the ability to print the Manual 
would be useful, as for the Reference.  I really don't like looking 
for and reading topics on screen.  But perhaps I'm a minority of one.

I don't mean this comment to detract from what I'm sure is a very 
useful program and hope you don't take it that way.

The online reference is available as a one-page html document which you can print using the Print function that most browsers have http://audacity.sourceforge.net/onlinehelp-1.2/reference.html This document is exactly the same as the program's inbuilt help at Help > About. There is also a PDF version here which may be even easier to print http://www-users.york.ac.uk/~raa110/audacity/QuickReference.pdf The manual includes the reference plus additional tutorials so you would not need both.
