OK - What you have is 2 boards, the gumstix board, and a console board
(probably console-ST, but maybe console-HW). The gumstix motherboard
is plugged into the console board. Make sure that it's fully seated.
If the connector was only partially plugged in, then that could
explain what you're seeing.

I'd recommend trying another computer just to make sure your results
are consistant. If you see gibberish on both computers then it's
highly likely that you have a bad console board.
