It's not the first time the folks managing some DNS list have to
take such a measure; it already happened in the past with several
lists; months after the lists were discontinued and notices about
such a thing were spread around on the internet, a bunch of
systems kept querying such lists causing unnecessary load, so
they were forced to switch to "bad behaviour" hoping that this
way, whoever administered the systems keeping querying the
lists should notice that something wasn't going as usual :)
Bottom line, if you use whatever external service, ensure to
keep up to date with whatever notice either by visiting their
websites, subscribing to announcements MLs or the like :)
