As  Chris Chambers suggested:
I changed the line
"world->Update()" in libstageplugin->p_driver.cc to "Fl::wait()"

but the problem with Stage 3.2 persists...still freezes up. Any other hints?

Richard V. also seems to be aware of the problem and possible fix, could you
please point me into that direction where the solution was posted?
By the way: Richard, congrats about your newborn! :)

To the Admin: WHY there's no such a "search" tool in the Archives so we can
easily find what we are looking for (like in a forum)? or perhaps I'm not
being aware of it?

That change does fix the problem. Did you forget to "make install" ?
