Summer 2005 Update
The site received some positive review on NewsForge. See:
http://www.newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=04/12/09/1630229&from=rss . This
boosted the user base. We're still #2 in the Google rankings (using Linux
links as the search term).
We continue to make improvements to the website for our users. Here are some
highlights.
*Added an RSS feed
*Added creation dates for new bookmarks listed under the 100 latest links
*Added Special Link Collections on first page
This includes: "Must See!" Links
"Cool!" Links
Latest 100 Links
Besides the usual database maintenance activities to eliminate pesky bad
links and adding new links (the fun part), I have been working on
classification problems. Here is a list of new sub-categories I've added
since the last release:
Linux General--Licenses
Hardware--Diagnostics
Networking--DNS
Networking--File Transfer
Networking--LDAP
Networking--Web Servers
Software Applications--Aggregators
Software Applications--Accessibility Technology
Software Applications--Libraries (as in books)--Archives/Repositories
Software Applications--Web & Content Management System (CMS) under Web
Software Applications--Publishing
Created TeX sub-category under Publishing
Transferred Software Applications--Office to Software
Applications--Publishing
Software Applications--Genealogy
X Window System--Complete X Systems
I plan to get another release out sometime this summer, but this is the time
of year I put on my gardening hat so I can't guarantee when this will
happen. :-)
If you have any sites you would like me to add or spot any corrections,
please email me at this address.
Best wishes to you all for a pleasant summer.
