(sorry if this is a dupe post, I forgot to subscribe to the list first)
Hello, I will be purchasing a new cd writer soon. I am currently using an
old HP 4x. I use cdrdao for most of the CDs I burn.
I am currently considering two LG drives. Either the GCE-8481B or the
GCE-8520B. The cdrdao drive compatibility page does not list either of
these drives. I would like to know if anyone has attempted to use either
of these drives with cdrdao, and if so, what problems they encountered, if
I am assuming the hardware in these models is similar to earlier models by
the same manufacturer which are listed on the drive compatibility page.
All the previous LG models listed use the generic-mmc driver. So I am
assuming these two drives will most likely use the same driver.
If anyone is aware of compatibility issues with either of these drives and
cdrdao (or linux in general) please let me know.
