Hello,
We are running dmx-1.2.20040630-1 on a 4-node tiled display running Red
Hat Linux 8.0 3.2-7
Works great except... there are no motif-type borders on application
windows distributed by dmx. It looks like there is no window manager
there. I can't move windows displayed through Xdmx.
Of course there is a border on the whole dmx controller window on the
controller node.
There are no borders on the e.g., OpenDX or mozilla windows put up by
those applications and displayed by dmx on the remote nodes.
For example:
dmx config file looks like:
virtual oribidmxdisplay_10856 {
display t4.portal.ucla.edu:0 1280x1024 @0x0;
display t5.portal.ucla.edu:0 1280x1024 @1280x0;
display t6.portal.ucla.edu:0 1280x1024 @2560x0;
}
Here is a sample of what we do similar to what is generated by a script.
/usr/X11R6/bin/Xdmx :1
-configfile /home/cusgunx/.oribi/dmx10856.config
-fontpath /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc
-fontpath /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi
-inputfrom t0.portal.ucla.edu:0
+xinerama &
sleep 10
export DISPLAY=:1
cd /tile/demo/leg
dx -program 1view_image.net
export DISPLAY=:0.0
The OpenDX 1view_image.net puts up its control panel and 6 tiff images,
each in its own window. When we run it only on a single node without dmx,
each image has a window manager border and is moveable. When we run it
under Xdmx there are no borders on the dx control panel window or the dx
displayed images windows.
When we run mozilla under dmx it has the same problem, but since we happen
to want the mozilla-displayed web page spread over all the tiles anyway,
mozilla is not a problem for us so far.
Can you suggest what we should do differently so as to get motif-type
window borders on, for example, a mozilla window?
Thank you.
