They absolutely have to be present at install time. You need them at
run-time only you installed them as shared libraries.

The preferred option is to "properly install" them, i.e. put them in a
place where the system linker finds them by itself. You may have to
change system configuration to that effect, e.g. by setting up environment
variables like LD_LIBRARY_PATH and LIBRARY_PATH.
